Habitat: It occurs only in the outer himalayan foot hills in association with scattered chirpine forest.

Feed: Grasses, leaves young shoots.

Breeding season: November to December.

Litter size: 1 - 2 kids.

Gestation period: 6 - 8 months.

Age at Maturity: 2 years for female, 3 years for male.

Predators: Leopard, wolf.

Life Span: 17 years.

Status: Endangered.

and Gilgit.

Habitat: It is confined to Himalayan forest regions up-to the limit of tree line or the lower altitude valleys, in the more arid mountainous country.
